Giro del Trentino Melinda draws up the grand finale

The 40th Giro del Trentino Melinda is poised to end with a great showdown with the last stage drafted by Gs Alto Garda organizers, set to provide big excitement on the way between Malè and Cles (160,9 km). A stage entirely running between Val di Sole and Val di Non, both famous for their apple production under the influence of the Melinda Consortium, a prominent brand in cycling since the 90ties with Trofeo Melinda and its unforgettable patron Marco Brentari who untimely passed away two years ago.

In the name of its bond with cycling, Melinda brand joined Giro del Trentino last year bringing forth a beautiful stage surrounded by apple trees. “The final stage is the high-quality brand  over this established international event, popular among riders and fansMichele Odorizzi, President of Consortium Melinda argued. – The organizers have shown impressive know-how and experience, and look set to guarantee a shining future to the event, based on passion, entrepreneurial spirit and bond with our territory”.

Only apparently the fourth stage looks like last year’s final act, ended up with Aussie Richie Porte as the overall winner. Next April 22nd, riders will be called tackle a more demanding course, with the tough ascent of Forcella di Brez placed in the second half. Two more categorized climbs await the riders  in Fondo and  Marcena di Rumo (995 mt), but Forcella di Brez uphill is certainly expected to be the highlight: 7 km rising up to 1395 mt, with gradients mainly floating between 10 and 11 per cent

Here’s the 40th Giro del Trentino Melinda programme, in view of the official presentation to be held in Trento next Tuesday, March 29.
