While waiting to see the ultimate showdown of the pink contenders before the Giro d’Italia, the Tour of the Alps – starting on Monday April 17th in Kufstein (Austria) – discovers the four leaders’ jerseys signed by Northwave, a World-famous Italian brand, specialized in cycling shoes, apparel and accessories.
With this partnership, the new Euro-regional event welcomes a company with a solid high-level experience in cycling, as Northwave has a long tradition of supporting top-notch riders in both road and mountain bike cycling.
The Italian brand will sign all the official jerseys of the race classifications’ leaders: the Fuchsia Jersey for the leader of the overall leader, the Green Jersey for the KOM, the Red Jersey for the leader of the Sprints Classification and the White Jersey for the U25 classification. The four “Performance 2” model jerseys feature exclusive graphics recalling the Giro del Trentino’s history, a choice in the name of continuity that highlights the connection between the former Giro del Trentino and the new event born under the aegis of Euregio-Tirol-Trentino-Sudtirol.
The jersey design is also dedicated to the Euregio and its distinctive symbol: the iconic “eagle”, divided into three parts representing the three regions, is clearly visible in the jerseys, making it even more exclusive and peculiar.
Tomorrow, Sunday April 16th, Tour of the Alps’ official programme will start with the top-riders press conference (4.30 pm CET, Kufstein University – Andreas Hofer Strasse, 7) with Thibaut Pinot (FDJ), Rohan Dennis (BMC), Michele Scarponi (Astana) and Giro del Trentino’s last winner Mikel Landa (Team Sky).
