The town of Bruneck/Brunico is the geographical, cultural, and economic center of the Pustertal Valley/Val Pusteria. The medieval town is bordered to the north by the Ahrntal Valley/Valle Aurina and the glaciers of the Zillertal Alps, and to the south by the Gadertal/Val Badia and the peaks of the Dolomites.
