Tour of the Alps’ new leader jerseys unveiled in Bozen/Bolzano

The 2025 leader jerseys were presented at the Euregio headquarters, once again produced by Alé Cycling. The race also welcomes former Giro d'Italia pink jersey wearer Lukas Pöstlberger as a new ambassador alongside Daniel Oss

With just one month until the Tour of the Alps begins, the Euroregional stage race is taking shape. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the race caravan will gather in San Lorenzo Dorsino, Trentino, before the 2025 edition (April 21-25) gets underway on roads that have become legendary for shaping both the race and the careers of those who tackle it.

The challenging terrain across Tirol, Südtirol/Alto Adige, and Trentino has earned a reputation as the perfect proving ground before the Giro d'Italia – capable of launching riders toward seasonal peaks or exposing those whose form isn't quite there yet.

Claiming a leader's jersey at the Tour of the Alps has become an increasingly coveted prize, evidenced by the fierce competition that characterizes the GS Alto Garda event from the first intermediate sprint to the final meters. On Thursday, March 20 in Bozen/Bolzano, at the Waaghaus/Casa della Pesa (the Euregio's institutional headquarters in Südtirol/Alto Adige), organizers unveiled the four leader jerseys for the 2025 edition in the presence of political, sporting, and military authorities, as well as event partners and stage town representatives.

For the fourth consecutive year, Alé Cycling – the Italian apparel specialist with over 30 years in the industry and Official Sponsor of the Tour of the Alps through 2027 – will produce the distinctive jerseys. Melinda and Gruppo Cassa Centrale continue their long-standing partnerships, backing the Green Jersey (general classification) and Blue Jersey (King of the Mountains) respectively. The Red Jersey (Points Classification) will be sponsored by Würth, while FORST takes over as the new sponsor of the White Jersey (Best Young Rider).

JERSEY SPONSORS
•    Melinda Green Jersey (General Classification)
•    Gruppo Cassa Centrale Blue Jersey (KOM Classification)
•    Würth Red Jersey (Points Classification)
•    FORST White Jersey (Under 25 Classification)

Melinda
The partnership between the Tour of the Alps and the Trentino fruit consortium extends well beyond sport, built on shared values and objectives. This relationship, which continues in 2025, dates back to the race's previous incarnation as the Giro del Trentino. Founded in 1989, Melinda now represents a global standard in its sector, bringing together over 4,000 Trentino farming families. Beyond apple production, the consortium is known for continuous innovation, applying cutting-edge technologies that preserve the natural qualities of their fruit.

Gruppo Cassa Centrale
Gruppo Cassa Centrale returns as Premium Sponsor for the 2025 edition, continuing a well-established collaboration. The banking group recognizes sport as both a catalyst for personal development and a driver of social and economic growth in communities. This commitment is reflected in their support of 30,000 sporting initiatives since the Group's formation in 2019, representing nearly €50 million in investment.

Würth
Würth, a global leader in fastening and assembly products, continues to strengthen its connection with the Tour of the Alps. The company's values of consistency, teamwork, and continuous improvement align perfectly with professional cycling. Having supported various sporting disciplines at local, national, and international levels, Würth has elevated its involvement by hosting the 2024 race start at its Neumarkt/Egna headquarters. For 2025, the company transitions to sponsoring the red points jersey.

FORST
Founded in 1857 in Lagundo, Südtirol/Alto Adige, FORST represents excellence in Italian brewing with more than 150 years of heritage. The company balances tradition with innovation while maintaining strong connections to its regional roots and environmental values. Embracing its sporting spirit, FORST has developed the first zero-alcohol beer in Südtirol/Alto Adige, gaining popularity across all age groups.

ALÉ CYCLING'S PR-R LINE DRESSES THE RACE LEADERS
The race leaders will once again wear jerseys from Alé Cycling's PR-R line, the Verona-based brand's flagship range for custom apparel. These jerseys, available to demanding amateur cyclists who appreciate Italian craftsmanship, feature design elements inspired by the dynamic and high-intensity nature of the Tour of the Alps – a race known for its compact stages and constant action from start to finish.

"We're proud of what we've built together with the Tour of the Alps over the past three years," commented Alessia Piccolo, CEO of APG, Alé Cycling's parent company. "Our partnership has delivered significant value and innovation to each edition. The three-year renewal represents another step toward a shared future of success, where we'll continue supporting cyclists of all levels. Alé Cycling is excited to partner with an event that embodies excellence and challenge, values that mirror our own company philosophy."

The Tour of the Alps has retained three of its four jersey sponsors for 2025. While Melinda and Gruppo Cassa Centrale represent long-term partnerships dating back to the Giro del Trentino era, the relationship with Würth is more recent but already substantial. The South Tyrolean company deepens its involvement by switching from the young rider classification to the points competition. New for 2025, FORST joins as the white jersey sponsor for the best young rider.

ROUTE HEADS THROUGH SINNER'S HOMELAND IN STERZING-RATSCHINGS/VIPITENO-RACINES AND INNICHEN/SAN CANDIDO
Following 2024's spectacular departure from Würth's headquarters, Südtirol/Alto Adige prepares to host three pivotal days of racing that promise tactical intrigue and spectacular action.

The action begins Tuesday, April 22 with stage two from Mezzolombardo (Trentino) to Sterzing-Ratschings/Vipiteno-Racines (Südtirol/Alto Adige). At 178km with 3,750m of climbing, it represents the longest and most elevation-heavy day of the race, with most climbing concentrated in the opening kilometers.

The Petersberg/Monte San Pietro KOM and subsequent rolling terrain will test the peloton before the decisive phase – a 16km finishing circuit ridden twice between Vipiteno and Racines. The climb to Obertelfes/Telves di Sopra (roughly 4km at 7% with double-digit sections) followed by a technical descent will likely determine both the stage winner and potentially reshape the general classification.

Stage three stays entirely within Südtirol/Alto Adige, running 145km from Sterzing-Ratschings/Vipiteno-Racines to Innichen/San Candido. This tactical stage could favor either a breakaway or GC contenders, requiring constant vigilance as the race traverses Eisacktal/Valle Isarco and Pustertal/Val Pusteria amid stunning mountain scenery.

After tackling the previously unused climb of Untermoi/Antermoia, riders will face the formidable Furkelpass/Passo Furcia – Val Pusteria's signature ascent and the race's highest point at 1,748m – followed by Vierschachberg/Monte Versciaco, the key feature of a 21km finishing circuit around Innichen/San Candido, backdropped by the majestic 3 Zinnen Dolomites .

The technical descent from Vierschachberg/Monte Versciaco ends 2.6km from the finish, leading to a flat approach before a double turn on cobblestones into the final straight through San Candido's historic center – the birthplace of tennis world number one Jannik Sinner in the 3 Zinnen Dolomitesregion.

Südtirol/Alto Adige features again in stage four on Thursday, April 24, as riders depart Sillian toward Obertilliach. After starting in Osttirol, the race crosses Winnebach/Prato alla Drava, Vierschach/Versciaco, Innichen/San Candido and Toblach/Dobbiaco before briefly entering Veneto.

Around the 50km mark, the race returns to Südtirol/Alto Adige via the Kreuzbergpass /Passo di Monte Croce Comelico, passing through Sexten/Sesto Pusteria – Sinner's hometown. The route then revisits Innichen/San Candido and Vierschach/Versciaco before crossing Winnebach/Prato alla Drava and returning to Austrian territory in Osttirol.

"The Tour of the Alps," explained Arno Kompatscher, current Euregio President and head of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, "is not merely an exciting sporting event with international appeal, but a tangible expression of collaboration between the three territories of the Euregio Tirol-Südtirol/Alto Adige-Trentino. In just eight years, the race has established itself as a fixture on the professional calendar, building on the multi-year foundation laid by the Giro del Trentino, which played a crucial role in developing this cross-border project."

LUKAS PÖSTLBERGER JOINS AS AMBASSADOR
In Bozen/Bolzano, the Tour of the Alps announced another significant development that reinforces the Euroregional vision developed by GS Alto Garda in partnership with Trentino Marketing, IDM Südtirol/Alto Adige, and Tirol Werbung eight years ago.

Following the successful ambassador program launched in 2024 with Daniel Oss, the race welcomes Lukas Pöstlberger as a new representative. The Austrian rider, who shared several seasons with Oss at Team Bora-hansgrohe, brings his experience as a two-time Austrian national champion and first Giro d'Italia in Austrian history, having claimed the opening stage in 2017 with a late attack in Olbia.

Now 33 and residing near Innsbruck in Tirol, Pöstlberger has transitioned to gravel racing for 2025. His respected status within the peloton will add a valuable perspective to the race coverage across digital channels and on-site activities, with particular focus on Austrian cycling and German-speaking audiences.
